Modified Rules for Soccer – 13U and 14U - 9v9

Field:
• Dimensions shall by 50 yards by 30 yards with a half-way line
and a center circle with a 5-yard radius.

• Goals shall be 8 feet by 24 feet.

• Penalty spot is 12 yards from goal.

Equipment Needed: 

JEWELRY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED FOR SAFETY REASONS.

NO EARRINGS, BRACELETS, OR NECKLACES WILL BE ALLOWED.
NEWLEY PIERCED EARS MUST HAVE BANDAIDS OVER THE EARRING. NO EXCEPTIONS.
PARENTS/COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BANDAIDS FOR COVERING PIERCED EARS.

SHIN GUARDS- Players can NOT play without them, must be worn UNDER soccer socks.

CLEATS- Not required but recommended. Cleats have to be soccer cleats.
Football or baseball cleats are not allowed due to safety reasons.

Soccer Ball- HIGHLY RECCOMENT EACH PLAYER HAS THEIR OWN BALL- size 5

Water Bottle- Mandatory, keep your player hydrated for their health and safety.

Players must be geared properly at all practices and games.

Number of Players:

• Format is 9v9 with a GOALKEEPER included.

• Substitutions may be made with the permission of the referee during stoppage of play for:

• Injury - either team• Goal kick - either team•
After a goal - either team• Throw-ins - Advantage team (team who has the throw in).

• Players must enter and leave the field at the halfway line.
Players to be substituted should be at halfway line prior to the ball leaving the field.

Games duration:

Two 35-minute halves• 5 min break at halftime.

2 min breaks in between quarters, with the exception of halftime.

Three neutral officials (referees) shall be allocated to every match.

All infringements shall be briefly explained to the player.

Start of Play:

• Winner of coin toss decides which end to attack.

• Ball must move slightly forward (not backward).

• Kicker may not kick the ball a second time until another player touches the ball.

• Opponents must be 10 feet from the center mark.

• Official score will be recorded.

Fouls and Misconducts Conform to FIFA

• Exception: Referee will explain all infractions to the offending player

• Referee is not to be disrespected or argued with.
Failure to adhere to this will result in removal of
offending party from the fields immediately.

 All free kicks are direct, and opponent shall remain 10 feet from ball.

Ball In and Out of Play:
Ball must be 100% over line to be out, for example, a ball touching the line
without crossing the line 100% is not out and is still in play. 

Throw-In: Balls out of bounds are put into play by the opposing
team at the point on the touchline where the ball was kicked out of bounds.
Both feet must stay on the ground during a throw in.
In the event that a player lifts a foot off the ground during a throw in,
they get one chance to redo the throw in.

After game 3 of the season there will be no more redo's on throw ins. 

Goal Kick: Goal kick is taken by defending team from any point on goal line.
Opponents must be 4 yards away from ball.

Corner Kick: If team defending goal touches ball last before it crosses goal line,
attacking team puts it into play with an indirect corner kick.

Opponents must be 4 yards away from ball.

Tied Score:
In the event of a tie at the end of regulation play, there will be a penalty shootout.

Round 1 of a shootout: Teams will designate 5 players to take alternating shots. Both teams will take turns, a
coin toss determines who shoots first. The team with the most goals wins. 

If the score is still tied after the 5 players on each team have attempted their shots,
we move on to Round 2 of the shootout.

Round 2 of a Shootout: Coin toss in round 1 determines who shoots first.
Teams will alternate new players to shoot
(CANNOT BE PLAYERS THAT WERE IN ROUND 1 OF SHOOTOUT) 
1ST TEAM TO SCORE, WINS the shootout, and the game.

Goalies are to not move off the goal line until the ball has been kicked.

Opposing parents/coaches and players should shake hands after each game.

Lastly: This is just a recreation game, and we are all here for fun!
Please encourage the children to have good manners towards refs, each other and to enjoy themselves.

NO PARENTS/SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED TO SIT ON THE GOAL LINE OR BEHIND IT.

YOU MUST SIT ON THE LONG SIDES OF THE FIELD, OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MOVE.


NO HELPING/COACHING GOALIES FROM BEHIND THE GOAL, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MOVE.

COACHING IS DONE ON THE SIDELINES, BY THE COACHES.


ALL SPECTATORS ARE SUBJECT TO YELLOW/RED PENALTY CARDS.

IF YOU HAVE INAPPROPIRATE CODUCT THE REFEREE CAN AWARD YOU A YELLOW CARD (WARNING).

TWO YELLOW CARDS EQUALS A RED CARD.

RED CARD IS IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE GROUNDS AND A ONE GAME SUSPENSION.

TWO RED CARDS EQUALS DISMISSAL FROM THE LEAGUE.


​NO DOGS ALLOWED.
GAMES ARE PLAYED ON SISD PROPERTY- SSA ADHERES TO THEIR RULES AND GUIDELINES.
IF YOU BRING A DOG, (EVEN A SMALL LAP DOG), YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS WITH THE DOG.

Teams can only win by a maximum of 3 points on League Apps. For example, your team may win 10-1 but the score on League Apps will show 4-1. Goals scored for will be adjusted to reflect this!


For age divisions with goal keepers, the first 7 games of the season will reflect the standings for their age division. The schedule for the LAST DAY OF GAMES of the season will be posted after week 7 games are completed (or after make up games are completed) and played according to ranking in the standings. For example, 1st and 2nd place teams will play each other for 1st and 2nd place, 3rd and 4th place teams will play for 3rd or 4th place, and so on.
